William Temple and the Civil War

My cousin and I are gathering information on the Temple family at this time. What we are really doing is expanding on what is already known.
It was discovered by a friend of mine that there is a William Temple that was listed as having served with the 1st Arkansas Cav. I believe what I have is a pension index number. The application number is 853010 with a certificate number of 778803. It appears to be signed by a man named J-( can't read the rest of the name) Tanner.
Can anyone shed some light on this?
Was this a Union or Confederate man and where was he from?
My great grandfather Benjamin Samuel Temple had a younger half brother named William but I really do not think it is him.
However, there were so many by the name of William/Will in the family, this man could be one of ours.
Per chance someone is a long lost cousin of ours, we would also love to hear from you. Any and all information would be welcomed.
Thanks-
Linda Temple Acrey
