Re: William Temple and the Civil War

Linda, the William Temple you asked about appears to have been a resident of Crawford County, Arkansas. He enlisted in Co. D, 1st Arkansas Cavalry, U.S. Volunteers, in Crawford County on June 23, 1862. When enlisted, he was reported to be age 24, born in Davidson County, Tennessee. He applied for a U.S. veteran's pension in 1890. I don't know the date of his death, but he is interred in Morrison Cemetery in Crawford County.
