Thanks for the information. I know that when Little Rock taken that First Methodist was changed over from M.E. South. The M E South congregation moved to a warehouse or some other structure. I didn't know that it was by direct order that this was done. My ancestor Rev. WP Ratcliffe was a M E South minister and was one of the chaplains with the Arkansas 9th. First Church in Little Rock was one of his congregations prior to the war. I think that I read of the church being split up in the Centennial History of the Methodist Church.
