I am writing a book on the Adams-Gibson Louisiana Brigade. The 1st Arkansas was part of this brigade in April of 1862 and fought with the Louisianians at the Battle of Shiloh. I am trying to find contacts/leads on ascertaining primary information from members of the First from this time span. Also, I would really love to include photographs of men from First who fought there, etc. In order to present a true brigade history I must and really want the First to have their story told. Of 800 or so men there are conflicting reports of losses from 174 to 270 to 281 to 364....I am by no means an expert on the 1st Arkansas and this is why I post. Being from south Louisiana my traveling to Arkansas is limited. Greatly appreciate any leads anyone can give. Please feel free to email directly.
