Jerry Pearce came back to Arkansas from his home of Mifflin, Tenn.,with a bride after the war
was over, and made a life for himself in central Arkansas.
Pearce was first a gunsmith at Pigeon's Roost going there around about 1868. I feel sure he moved into Lonoke in 1880,
so the children could attend school. He was an educated man for the times and believed in educating women.
I have a nice photo of the whole Pearce family of the day that was made prior to the family
moving on to Durant, Indian Territory.
Jerry Pearce died in Oklahoma and is buried at Durant and while his wife
came back to Arkansas to live, she was sent for burial by his side.
