14th KS Cav at Ft Smith, Feb 1864

In Feb 1864, two battalions of the 14th Kansas Cavalry were stationed at Fort Smith, Arkansas. About the time Col Moonlight was reassigned and Maj Brown took command, they moved into the Choctaw Nation to join an expedition led by Col W.A. Phillips which was moving south from Ft Gibson, Cherokee Nation. Brown moved west to at least North Fork Town in the Creek Nation, near present Eufaula, Oklahoma. It appears he scouted southward from there down the Texas Road toward present Atoka, OK.

I'm looking for any information on the movements of Brown's command into the Choctaw Nation. Can anyone point me to primary sources on his activities during Feb 1864?

Thanks.
Ken
