Thanks, Bruce. I have some correspondence regarding Capt. Thomas M. Cochran. Sadly, one letter is missing a crucial page. Cochran seems to have had a knack for engendering ill-will among his superiors and fellow officers. One colonel, to whose regiment Cochran's company was temporarily attached, was "glad to be rid of him," when Cochran moved on. A complaint about him from his junior officers eventually led a Confederate congressman to write to the Secretary of War. At some point I'd like to transcribe the correspondence and post it. It makes interesting reading.
