The letter is really quite "Famous" in Grant County, Arkansas Museum relating to the Battle of Jenkin's Ferry. and was printed in the Merry Green Newspaper. It has been posted on several sites of the web. I am sure with your research on the 26th Arkansas you have probably seen it. Here is one of the links which posts the letter in full.

As I said, I was approached to look into the letter, Because local historains believe that they had found the grave along Cox Creek. After doing some examination I realized that every name in the letter except the mistranscribed main principals were members of Company "A" 26th Arkansas Infantry. Instead of Q.V. Stephens, I realized that the writer was 1st Sargeant Felix V. Stephens and that the person he was talking about was William W. Cherry, older brother of Basil Cherry of Monticello, who was in Company "A", and who was not named in the letter.

As you well know having done transcription of handwriting styles of the 1800's yourself such letters as "F" and "W" can quite easily be mistranscribed as "Q" and "M's".
