Mark,

David W. Moore enlisted in Co. G, 35th Arkansas Infantry, at Van Buren, Arkansas, on June 18, 1862. He was transferred to the 4th Arkansas Cavalry on August 12, 1862; but was almost immediately transferred back to his old command on September 29, 1862. He was then appointed quartermaster-sergeant and transferred to the 35th Arkansas regimental staff at Camp McCulloch, Arkansas, on October 1, 1862. He remained with the 35th Arkansas until the surrender. He was paroled at Shreveport, Louisiana, on June 15, 1865.

There was quite a bit of shuffling of men between the infantry and cavalry during this period, but apparently Moore was sent back to the infantry specifically to assume the duties of quartermaster-sergeant.

BTW, folks, get yer flu shots! I didn't, and I'm just now getting over two weeks of suffering -- seasonal flu, not swine flu. It's a rough one this year.
