Col. F. P. Yell was killed at Mansfield.

Popular legend has it that his servant Wiley Jones either accompanied the Colonels body, or took his personal effects to Col. Yell's wife who was living in Monticello, Ark. I know that Col. Yells father, Major General James Yell who died in 1867, is buried in the Bellwood cemetery. I am not certain IF Maj. Gen. Yell had his son's body moved to Pine Bluff after the war or not.
