Ken...I do not know what General Steele refers to as the Louisiana Railroad.Colonel Speight's soldiers were captured and paroled by Captain Hart about 15 miles SE of Ft.Smith.Whatever Steele was refering to would have been there. Hart himself and his command were captured a few days later on Jan 19th. at Blacksmith and Mill on the Poteau River near Ft.Smith.Hart was hanged Jan.22 at Ft.Smith.
