Re: James Caudle Death
In Response To: Re: James Caudle Death ()

I have the 1860 information for James Caudle and the 1870 information for his wife Elizabeth ( in Texas) and their 4 children. When they reached Texas they lived with different family members. I am trying to find a place to look for his death and how he died to verify what really happened to him and I know he wasn't in the war. The information I was given by different family members was that he was murdered in 1867 or 1868 (possibly by the Freemasons) because he was believed to have passed information to the wrong side. I was also told he delivered mail when they lived in Sevier County.
Do you know if there would have been any records in any of the court houses if he was murdered or possibly a library?
Thanks for taking the time to answer
