Re: LH Tennison & HF Tennison 13th Arkansas Infant

Thank you for the information I really appreciate it - it seems difficult to pin down the exact service record of one's ancestor with the information available. It also appears that there was a lot of movement between units by individual soldiers. I thought that LH Tennison may have served in Govan's Brigade at Chickamauga and Missionary Ridge in the consolidated 13th and 5th regiments; however, if he transferred to the 30th Arkansas in July, 1862 that's not the case. I've noticed that there are a lot of documents concerning his brother Hiram online (pay records, etc.) but not much concerning Levi. It also looks like the brothers may have participated in Price's Missouri raid as both the 30th and Davies Battalion were involved. Both Levi and Hiram were from Tennessee and Hiram's pension was issued by that state - do you know if it was common for Tennesseans to serve in Arkansas regiments?
