I thought I had posted this query some time ago, but I can't find it in the archives. Does anyone have information on the location of the above unit during the first 6 month or so of its service? I'm researching Pvt. John F. Barksdale who joined in Drew Co. in Feb.,1862 and is listed as dead on a report in June/July of that year. I know from family records that he died in a Confederate hospital in Mississippi.

Any insights?
