I checked the "List of Militia Officers, 1827-1862". Donaldson McGregor was elected Col Commendant on 22 Feb 1860 of the 24th Militia Regiment. He eventually raised a Volunteer Company called "Clan McGregor" that became part of the 1st Arkansas. R. C. Thompson succeeded McGegor but he was not elected until 29 November 1861. I wounder of your newpaper is a mistake and put. M. Gregory in sead of McGregor?
