Re: Arkansas Troops after Chustenalah

Excellent passage. Maybe, I need to go back to all the books on the IT, I bought and read a couple of Christmas ago. But your title had me confused. I am neck deep in Arkansas units without a paddle. A comment in one of my notes talks of Arkansas units in the IT, specifically Brook's Battalion or the companies that made up the Battalion. I look at Brooks Battalion and find no official records before January 1863. Company H (B/27 TX Cav) has records up to its transfer to Brooks on 4 June 1862. Then there is nothing till January 1863. The two Texas Companies that were added to make Stirman's Regiment of Sharpshooters have complete records.(I/6 TX Cav; H/9 TX Cav). Is there a solution to my search for records? I would like to know what the Stirman/Brooks portion of the Regiment lost at Corinth and Hatchie Bridge. Perhaps I can even come up with some data to complete Stirman's regiment. With Danny Odom's comments and data, and a lot of detail by Sue Moore, I am close to having a good history for Bridges and his battalion and Company I/ 6th Texas Cav.
