It seems that both the Edward G. Gerdes Civil War Page, and the NPS S&S System indicate that the organization date or the 30th/25th Arkansas was August of 1861, but the enrollment dates on the rosters on the Gerdes site all indicate the spring of 1862. Were these rosters possibly when the unit was reorganized "for the war" or was the unit actually formed in the summer of 1862. The higher number would seem to argue for the later organization date. Also the NPS site indicates that the nucleus of the unit was the 11th Arkansas Infantry Battalion.
