I am concerned that Mr. Parker may be confusing the 38th Arkansas with Adam's 3rd Arkansas? I have a hard time with the idea that the 38th was split between Prarie Grove and Helena, and that the companies themselves were split. While it is not uncommon for several companies to be peeled off of a regiment and detailed out for an assignment, I don't think I have seen companies themselves split up, if that is what I under stand Mr. Parker to be saying in this post?
