Alan, he was born Cotesworth Pinckney Head in NY, son of Sanford Head and Anna Ballard. Atd Madison University. After the war he moved to Prescott, AZ, where he was a state represeentative, merchant, mine owner and railraod promoter. Died in 1887.
BTW I suspect the "Col. R. G. Shaw" is Col. R. G. Shaver
