The Arkansas in the Civil War Message Board

Re: Help, need some clarification ...

So basically, the Widow's Pension record indicates a hoax and just trying to receive a monetary payment until her death. I am trying to read through some of these records as of now to understand some of it. There's 16 pages in all and only half way through it. It also liste mentioned that he was as A. D. Hutson in Co. K 27th Arkansas Infantry. The website Couch's Civil War has lots of errors I'm beginning to find. I wish he cite his sources of information. Is there a way to view A. D. Hutson's records online at the NARA site? I am beginning to believe that this Andrew Thomas Hudson/Hutson married to Mary Jane Lewis/Louis in Johnson County, Arkansas never enlisted after the state militia mustered-out in May 22, 1862. These Confederate records are hard to tell who's who in them. If they just state there residency then maybe it'll be easier to know. So supposedly, this A.D. Hutson in the 27th regiment is him? I am trying to create a profile on him as to why he was home at the time of January 20, 1865 when six or seven Johnson County women were whipped, beaten, tortured by hot coals that later resulted into lasting injuries or eventual death for a couple of them. I have found in the Fort Smith newspapers a group of men (from the 14th Kansas and others as well as citizens) that were supposedly involved in this atrocities of that night or two. One of the victim stated she recognize Andrew Hudson, and the only Andrew Hudson in Johnson County was a nearby neighboring family of William C. and Malinda Hudson Family.

I keep looking to find more concrete answers among these records.
