Other than the small reports in the OR's, is there any further info on the skirmish at Aberdeen on July 6? THere were a number of Confederates killed there. A 30 minute truce was allowed for the CS to come in and gather up their dead and the Federal officer states how they then proceeded in pursuit and could see the CS wagons with the dead on a nearby road but they left them alone. Wonder where these men were buried. They were headed more or less north from Aberdeen, on the west side of White River. I am not sure of all the units involved but the precursor for Monroe's Cav regiment was there. Wheat's BN led by CPT Wheat seems to be the main CS unit. One of his companies was that of Saline Co under CPT Brown that went on to become Company H of Monroe's 1st/6th Ark Cavalry. I know two of the killed were Saline Co men. If anyone knows of where these dead might be buried I would love to know. ALso, how does this skirmish, or does it, tie in with that of Cotton Plant?
