Re: Yankee soldier, James C. Reeves, 26th Illinois

Thank you. Yes, please send anything you find my way.
I now have an address-both mailing and e-mail- and have been in contact with some of the shared connections in Illinois.
Never knew they existed until about this time last year and they found me.
Seems there was a James Sterling Harper in Illinois who had dark hair and fair skin along with a straight nose.
As it turns out, that James Sterling Harper in Illinois was named in honor of his dad's brother, a James Sterling Harper from Tennessee,
a red haired fair skinned, pug nosed Irishman who was my gg grandfather.
This James Reeves was also named in honor of my James Sterling Harper and was the child of their sister, Nancy Harper Reeves.
So James Reeves was a first cousin to the children of my James Sterling Harper.
James Thomas Harper who served with the 5th Tenn. CSA was my great grandfather and was a first cousin to James Reeves.
Confusing, isn't it??
But I do appreciate the offer of help and thanks a bunch.
Linda Temple Acrey
daughter of Louise Harper Temple
grandchild of Dock Harper, Lonoke County, Ar.
great grand of James Thomas Harper, 5th Tenn. CSA and later lived in Arkansas
gg grand of James Sterling Harper, who lived in Tenn. and was blacksmith
