Damon, the 1st Arkansas Cavalry, U.S. Volunteers, had a battery of mountain howitzers as part of its organization. Capt. John I. Worthington, Co. H, is known to have controlled at least a section of howitzers for awhile. I haven't researched this regiment much beyond transcribing its muster rolls, so I can't add much else to the discussion.
