Folks, I have a friend who has an ancestor who her family believed served in the Confederate army but whose records show he served in the Union. I surmised it is possible that he was a conscript who changed sides to wear blue. He was:

Hezekiah A. Barton
Enlisted in Company C, Arkansas 4th Cavalry Regiment on 19 Oct 1863.
Mustered out on 07 Jul 1864 at Little Rock, AR.

Anybody know if Hezekiah might have spent some time wearing butternut? Thanks for any assistance!
