Na I aint sayin that. A friend who is helping me with my family tree is. She said it came from a Confederate pension listing. But when I go the website http://www.couchgenweb.com/civilwar/ his name is not listed under the confederate side but his name is listed on the union side. But it aint his real name but his alias that is listed there.

So I dont know what side he was on. He did enlist mid part of 1863. At that time it was pretty much over for the CSA in northern Arkansas. So during that time its possible they were forced to side with the union maybe. In other words side with union or get all your property burned out and your families raped and killed. Imagine supplies and food was in short supply by then. It may have been an act of survival. Dont figure they had much of a choice.

He may have been a spy for the CSA, and joined the union side under his alias.

I dont know. What do you think?
