Linda, in the course of my research I've found several instances of Wilkerson, Wilkinson, Wilkison, etc., being used interchangeably; sometimes three different spellings in a single service record. So when I'm tracking down a soldier with any of those names, I search all possible spellings. It sure complicates the search.
