I am confused by the references to Drew's Battery. The text would indicate that this was the "Monticello Artillery" but I don't know why they would be referring to it a Drew's Battery. I know that some post war records speak of the Drew Light Artillery, but I thought that this was a reference to Drew County Arkansas where the battery was raised. I think the commanders of the Monticello/Drew Light Artillery were James A. Owens and W. C. Howell, so there was no commander by the name Drew. Ultimately the question is, Did the Monticello Artillery participate in the Capture Of The Gun Boat Petrel?
