There was a 1st Sgt. M.A. Dry in Co. D, 45th Regt. Arkansas Cavalry. I believe these two men were one and the same. This unit was on Price's Raid, but I thought Newton's Cavalry was also. The Captain, that Dry speaks of was probably William Bradley, but I'm not sure he was a Captain. William Bradley enlisted as 1st Sgt. Co. L, 8th Arkansas Cavalry on 7 March, 1861 at Pocahontas, Arkansas.
I believe M.A. Dry was in both the 8th Ark. Cav. and the 45th Ark. Cav. I don't know if both units combined or Dry just tranferred on or before Price's Raid.
