Mamie did a wonderfull job collecting all those post war stories from Confederate soldiers. She began collecting the stories as a young girl growing up in Farmersville,Texas and later moved to McGregor,Tx. Many interesting personal accounts from Trans-Mississippi soldiers in addition to those from soldiers who migrated to Texas from states east of the Mississippi.
