There appear to be no books re the 30th.

There is however a listing, "Things Grew Beautifully Worse: The Wartime Experiences of Captain John O’Brien, 30th Arkansas Infantry, C.S.A.," his regiment however became the 25th Arkansas and is not what you want.

I have been unable to find their location in August, 1862. I suspect they were still in camp near Little Rock.
