In Fact the Camps of BG Daniel Frost Missouri Brigade are inside the Arsenal itself. The Fort is located just outside of the arsenal on what was called Days Bluff along the OLD Arkansas River channel before the Arkansas was channelized and Dams built.
180 yards of the rear ramparts are still there on private property. One of the two Main guns of the fort is located on the Old Arkansas State Capitol grounds in Little Rock, Its now called "The Lady Baxter" because of the part it played in the infamous Brooks Baxter War. But it was one of the armaments of the CSS Ponchartrain and later one of the guns at Fort Hindman during the Battle of Arkansas Post. It was recovered after that battle at Arkansas Post and used at Fort Pleasant. Quite a history in itself.
Appearently there is some confusion between England, Arkansas and English, Arkansas. I would be interested in knowing the location of Col. Pleasants Grave and how to get to it? Is it marked?
