If the photo has in its lower right hand corner the sign of "J. Rosens' ... Dry Good & Cloth...", I am familiar with the image. The cutline on this photo I have seen indicates that it was taken at approximately 10 a.m. on Sept. 10, 1862 in Frederick, Md., not Sept. 12 as you have been told. I do not know which is correct, but determining the actual date could be helpful in winnowing down the universe of Confederate regiments in Fredericksburg at this time and on the correct date.

As the image is image is somewhat indistinct, I am curious as to how others can express the opinion the that soldiers were of Hood's Division? They may well have been, but without visual clues to discern pointing in that direction it seems only a guess at best.

I would be interested in learning more about the image as well, if there is any more to learn.
