Re: Starr Arms cap and ball revolver ID

Gunny, it takes one to know one! LOL You should have gotten the single action Starr. The boys in the WTBS had the same complaint; the double action had too hard a trigger pull, and fouling made it worse. That's why today's operators go with the 1911, and the Israelis the Hi Power.

I started young, too. First BB guns, then a .22 rifle. I was in the Navy before I had a pistol, but haven't been without one since.

When I was a wee lad a long time ago, we would take 6 to 10 inch steel pipes of 1/2 to 3/4 inch diameter, threaded and capped on one end. We drilled a small hole in the cap, so the fuse of a two inch firecracker would stick out for lighting. A glass marble would put a heck of a dent in a galzanized steel garbage can, and ball bearings would go through both sides!

We made rubber guns with inner tubes, after the war (WWII) when natural rubber came back. They would sting the stew out of you!.

Litle Jack Barfield, cocking his Red Ryder one day, got a BB in the end of his index finger. We took him to our veteranarian, Dr. Riddle, and he took it out for ol' Jack.

Those were times ROTFLMAO! Stan
