Peter Tait did not make his own buttons, he contracted for them and had his back mark applied. Tait buttons varied and in addition to Script I buttons he also used manuscript I and the lined I and A. IMO the lined buttons are more common to tait jackets. Lots of them are found in Texas where they came in through the blockade. Scipt I buttons were also imported in pretty good numbers for use by the various depots.
