All of my gear and most that I have seen as far as trousers go come with zinc buttons. Most shirts have bone or shell buttons, some zinc. Trousers also had a two piece strap and buckle on the back not a piece of rawhide. Two great suppliers of period correct clothing are C.J. Dailey in Gettysburg and Richmond Depot in Richmond. Neither are cheap but they are dead on accurate. Confederate reenactors with rank patches sewn on their sleeves are not accurate. Confederates sewed rank directly to the sleeve. Federals used patches.
