I think you are right. The fluted cylinder was the first thing that had me wondering. It's a nice "little" gun though. My wife bought several of them for our gun crew to carry as "boot" guns. It's a pain to have to carry different caliber stuff and we were looking for short barreled .44s. Of course we never came across any. Maybe this gun was issued in .36 caliber but Traditions has offered it in .44. I haven't a clue. Handles and shoots well though.
