As to the Colt Pocket Police, mine is the .36 caliber, Model 1849 frame. I know the .44 one you are talking about. I am really impressed with mine. I am in the process of obtaining some yellowed ivory grips for mine. I saw a photo of Col. Vard Cockerell's [ Missouri State Guard Cavalry ] Model 1849 Pocket Pistol with a 5.5 inch barrel and it had the ivory grips. It looked quite pleasing. I thought my 1862 Pocket Police might look good this way.
