Brigadier General Baker specifically that the weapons were Austrian rifles and not Austrian muskets. In tests conducted sometime in the 1950's with actual weapons (not reproductions), the Austrian Rifle hit 3 of 15 shots at 400 yards on a six-foot square target and the Enfield Rifle Musket hit 13 of 15 shots.
