AOT Inspection reports date from the late summer of 1864. Don't recall any muskets reported outside of the cavalry. Weaponry avaiable to the Confederate foot soldier at this time seems to be comparable to that of his Federal opponent. Real disadvantages are evident within the mounted arm, and, to a lesser extent, within the artillery.

AOT Inspection reports should be found on reel three of M935, Inspection Reports and Related Records Received by the Inspection Branch in the Confederate Adjutant and Inspector General's Office.
