Thank you for the info Mr.Belton....its a shame that the current Administration doesnt have any interests in the Sesquicentennial. The issue of slavery, which all are taught is the reason for the Civil War,was ended in the Civil War.Little piece of paper called the Emancipation Proclomation. Think they would really go after that. I was fortunate to be alive during the Centennial. I was a young boy but remember it well. It actually fueled my interests in a life-long Civil War hobby.Whether your ancestor was a Confederate or Union soldier we have to remember these men as being in the most important time in American history. Shelby Foote said "he Civil War defined us". We were not a country before the Civil War,only in name were we a country. This event should be remembered and remembered well. The other day I was looking for some stationary or stickers, anything with the Sesquicentennial Emblem.....googled it and found no Federal office, commission, nothing. I was answered by private citizens.....I will have the things printed up myself & try to spread the knowledge of the Civil Wars 150th Anniverserary.....Will we remember the 200th Anniversary or will it be completely wiped out of the history books by then.......??
