I just saw a letter in a private collection that states Likens' 35th Texas Cavalry was given a new flag on Dec 20, 1863 while on duty along the Texas Gulf Coast. According to this letter there were 6 other Texas Cavalry regts under Hamilton P. Bee opperating in this area, like Brown's 35th, Buchel's 1st, and the the 2nd Texas Cavalry.

Does anyone know if these other regiments received flags at the same time and what their flags looked like?

Could anyone give a suggestion on where to research the design of the flag given on Dec 20, 1863 to Likens' 35th Texas Cavalry?
