Re: Morgan flag
In Response To: Morgan flag ()

I am doing research on Confederate Brig. Gen. John Hunt Morgan's last Kentucky raid of June 1864. As you know the battles of Cynthiana, Kentucky was a won/lost affairs. So far I have not come across any mention of a Confederate flag captured at Cynthiana by any of Gen. Burbridge's command. Cynthiana was considered a very strong rebel town and maybe the flag was used as a in-door banner by rebel citizens of Cynthiana? If I come across any information about a captured CSA flag, I'll let you know immediately. I noticed the flag is for sale and a newspaper article by Corp. John E. Taggart of the 9th Michigan Cavalry from a 1911 issue of the Detroit News-Tribune concerning the battle of Cynthiana. If you have a copy, please forward me a copy by e-mail or mail to 707 S. Green St. Glasgow, KY 42141. I would greatly appreciate it. I am a Co-Author of the civil war book, "Confederate Guerrilla Sue Mundy." Please reply. Sincerely, Perry A. Brantley
