Interesting.

I have never heard of any Palmetto pattern flags that have ties outside of SC.

There is one Palmetto in the Chicago Historical Society that they "think" was acquired prior to the war in Missouri, but they are not sure.

What other Palmetto pattern flags have you seen and where have you seen them?

In that the flag in Iowa has a Palmetto and a Crescent, it has a SC tie. Now whether it went to Alabama from SC or not, I couldn't say, but it definitely represents the state of SC.
