Re: Flags o f9th MS Cavalry & 3rd Btn.MS State Tro

Greg,

Again, many thanks for your help concerning the flags of the 9th Cavalry & the 3rd Battalion.

As for eBay goods, real or fake , I could not afford them.

What is important to me is knowing that my g-g-grandfather and four of his sons served their state and the South with honor and courage- one son ,who volunteered when under-conscription age, was killed during the battle of Chickamaugua. My great grandfather , who was in the 24th MS, was captured at Lookwout Mtn, in very close proximity to the flag, and in spite of nearly 2 yrs, at Rock Island, remained steadfastly loyal to the South, and this is what is REALLY important.

Who knows , one day the above mentioned flags may yet
see the light of day once again. I just wanted to add as much information to the family history as possilble.

Acutually, I never gave much thought to any of my family past my grandparents ,so I have been having the time of my life uncovering family history.

I wish you and your family a safe, and Happy Holiday Season.

Mary Jo
