Hi Bill,

I am at Biggsk@aol.com

I can scan and send the color picture for you and type here the text of his letter - the 27th Arkansas guy. The letter stated:

Little Rock, Ark.
Apr the 25th 1863

Dear Companion,

I have the opportunity of writing you a few lines, and the flag which is waving over the Southern Army, at this time while it is waving, his beautiful colors over us. If you look about the senter of hit you will see the roman catholic cross which you know don't suit a man of my principles. If you will look above the flag on the pole you will sea the tomeyhalk which the catholic calls ther golden god which they worship. and if you will look at the foot of the pole you will sea the colerbarer. I dont like this flag and don't cear who knows hit becaus I am as far from being a roman catholic as any man that ever was born. and hulkdy I send hitto you becaus I dident think you had ever seen one of these flags...som of them calls a french flag. never saw one before this one. hit may bee for hour good but I dont like hit and I cant help hit. I will quite my flag letter so nothing new at present. huldy keep the flag.

Absalom Langston
to Mary. M. Langston
the flag of the south

I have kept his spelling etc. as the letter has it.
