I am a descendant of the Rogers brothers and have some information that may help. John Franklin Rogers is my Great-Great Grandfather. He and William David Rogers were born in Mount Meigs, Alabama (near Montgomery) and were buried in Oakey Streak, Alabama near Greenville, Alabama. The family still owns the land belonging to JF in Oakey Streak. They and other family resided in the Milton, Florida area off and on and that is why they signed up for the war there. The two areas are not that far apart. I have a letter written by John Franklin during his time in the war and an original picture of WD in his uniform but without the hat. John Franklin's son was a doctor in Luverne, Alabama and his son (my grandfather) owned Roger's Drug Co. in Luverne. That is where my father grew up. I am very anxious to read the letters from WD online that you describe as well as any other information that I do not have.
