Dianne, You will love this book. Margaret Mitchell's grandfather had a plantation near Stately Oaks. This was the Fitzgerald place. She would visit him at Jonesboro during the summer and sit on Stately Oaks's porch listening to war tales. They still give tours 6 days a week at Stately Oaks in Jonesboro, GA. I love to hear from people such as yourself that had ancestors on that war criminal Sherman's march!
