Re: Killed near New Hope
In Response To: Re: Killed near New Hope ()

I recently found one of my family members in Rose Hill Cemetery in Macon, Georgia.

Private William R. TEAGLE, Company A, 9th Mississippi Infantry [Sharp's Brigade, Hindman's Division, S. D. Lee's Corps] was wounded in action at Ezra Church on July 28, 1864, evacuated to a Confederate military hospital at Macon, Georgia and died there on August 13, 1864. He was buried in the Confederate Square section of Rose Hill Cemetery and his grave is marked with a UDC tombstone.

Our family had only known that "Uncle Robert" was killed in the war at Atlanta. I came across Richard Sinyard via the Internet who was a big help to me in searching possible Georgia cemeteries. Check out his 43rd Alabama Infantry webpage - his current e-mail address is at the bottom.
