Someone must be overlooking something at the Archives. If I found him, surely they could. It may be that his record is under H.P. Long (note, intials only). If I were you, I would reapply using H.P. instead of Henry Putman. You may also hand write an attached note that his name appears as H.P. in Lillian Henderson's "Roster of the Confederate Soldiers of Georgia, 1861-1865". It also may be better to apply to Atlanta rather than Wash. D.C.Let me know if you hit a stonewall..............Neal
