Thanks again for answering my query. Someone else suggested that I try contacting a Mr. Alan Pitts to see if he could help me too. I'm not positive but I do believe that I listed several names that Henry Putnam Long might be found under. It seems to me that when I applied that was one of the questions - possibility of Henry going by another name.
I think you are right though and I will try once again. On my gr grandfather's parole it has his name as H P Long but on his oath of allegiance it is Henry P Long. It has also been suggested that I write to the Natl Archives Old Military and Civil Records. You think I will have better luck with the Georgia Archives? Thanks for your help. June
